There's no such thing as a free lunch. So why do people want free domain names, and why do hosting companies offer them free?
The scenario to get that 'free' domain is that you must buy into a hosting plan. Once done, you can now choose your 'free' domain name. But here's where you are going to hit a snag. You have to create a domain name from scratch.
So if a hosting company offers free domains but does not have any ready-to-go domains that fit your business, why select that host in the first place?
The way to get a domain that's proper for you is to search for it before contacting a host. The bad news is, if you do that, you will discover that your dream name is not available. It already graces the top of a website or is held by someone who will offer it to you - at a price.
Unless you are happy to end up with a domain that you did not want in the first place and proceed to fabricate something with an odd extension, a weird combination of words and hyphens, you have no choice but to buy the domain that's correct for you.
Once that's done, you can proceed and shop for the best host out there. One that speaks your language has an excellent and responsive service record and does not charge an arm and a leg for domain renewals.
And if you are serious about your endeavor, you register the domain for more than only one year. This way, you won't forget to do so when renewal is due, and long-term domain registration looks better in Google ranking.
